2006 shows

Michelson Stables began as a quest for knowledge of the equine world through participation in clinics and lessons, later evolving into a life of dedication to the horse industry. Greg and Karen have always had a love for horses, both having rode in their youth. In 1994, Greg left the oil and gas industry permanently, to enter into horse training full time. In 1998, with the birth of their son, Clayton, Karen left UFA Airdrie, to begin her new career as mother. 2001 brought them a daughter, Delaney.

After several years in the Paint industry, Michelson Stables Performance Horses redefined their goals and focused their interests on Reining. With the purchase of their senior stallion Hickory Hello, they are now fulfilling their goals of raising and riding quality reining horses from that breeding program. With Greg doing all the training, Hickory Hello has proven himself in the reining and cowhorse pen, and will continue to do so, along side his offspring. Ima Top Sailor, now comes into the picture. In the near future, this junior stallion will also be proving himself in the show pen. As time goes by, Greg and Karen are striving to build a broodmare band of quality mares that have a reining or cowhorse background.

The Michelson facility is comprised of an 70' X 160' indoor arena, 96' X 176' outdoor pen, new 60' round pen, heated sale barn and show barn (under construction) that will be attached to the indoor arena. All turn-out pens are constructed of steel pipe, to maximize safety and minimize maintenance.

There have been many people over the years that have contributed to the growth of Michelson Stables Performance Horses, in one form or another, and "Many Thanks" needs to be said to all, as it couldn't have been achieved without you! Greg, Karen, Clayton and Delaney look forward to your continued support! Stop by, the coffee's on!
